CSA is Community Supported Agriculture. A community of committed eaters who come together to give financial, emotional, and some physical support to their farmers. CSA has a long tradition and history on the East Coast, and we are so happy to have the opportunity to start our first East Coast CSA! When a farm has the support of a community, they have more resources to succeed.
The CSA season will go from the first of June through end of October. $550 for the season works out to $25 per box. We fill the box with $28 worth of produce which means you get a 10% savings off our farm stand prices. Members who pick up at farmers market will be Friends of the Farm. They will pay the same $550 up front, and get 10% extra added to their Friend of the Farm card. Their Friend of the Farm card will start the season with $605 which they debit off of at our farm stand for the remainder of the season. This works well for folks who like more choice in their weekly box, or who may not be around every weekend to pick up their share.
Pick up will be on Tuesdays at the farm in Amsterdam, from 4 - 6pm. Picking your box up at the farm helps you connect to the land where the food is grown and be present to the changing seasons and produce availability. What to expect in your box: salad greens, micro greens, shoots, carrots, onions, radishes, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, peas... You'll definitely get some veggies you've never eaten before, and might sometimes have to get creative with large numbers of greens in your box! We also send our a weekly newsletter with farm news and recipes (you never knew turnips and radishes could be so delicious).
When you join our CSA, you become a part of our farm family. You are welcome to walk the fields during pick up and add special orders like eggs or flowers. We do require one four hour work day as membership to our CSA, workdays to be announced. Hugs are welcome, too!
